The Mail is Here #226

As always, Sister Hummel draws to depict the daily items 
and special events in children's lives. This figurine depicts
the Mail Coach coming to town drawn by two sturdy steeds
and the Postman blowing his trumpet to alert everyone. 


An extremely colorful and detailed porcelain piece made

by the fabulous craftsmen at the Goebel factory. There is
such beautiful detail in this hand painted piece - 
so typical
of the quality of Goebel's porcelain figurines which never 

diminishes over the ages!

This figurine is 7" long and 5” high and was first crafted
by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1952 and then
introduced to the line in the 1950s.Iw as originally called
"Mail Coach" and a wall plaque of the piece was also created.

Star Gazer #132

This figurine features a young boy with his telescope
looking out into the night sky. 
He is capturing the
wonders of outer space! You can just imagine what
a sparkling 
spectacle this boy has in sight as he
peers through his telescope. 
Star Gazer is an
enchanting gift for an astronomer, either amateur or professional.

This figurine measures approx. 5" tall and was created by
master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1939.  The piece was temporarily
withdrawn from production ion June 15th, 2002.     

Little Thrifty

"Little Thrifty" #118, BANK 

This is a very special figurine. It depicts a young girl placing a coin in a medieval style poor box. But is is an operating BANK!!  'Little Thrifty' was first modeled in 1939 by master sculptor Arthur Moeller and then redesigned by master sculptor Rudolf in 1963.  It was retired in 1999. It is usually found with a key and a metal plug beneath the base.

Angel Light Bridge

Angel Candle Bridge and Plate #241 

 Designed by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1976,
this piece as first released in 1978 as “Angel Bridge”.
It is in the form of an arch placed on a plate. An angel figurine sits attached to the top of the arch with candle receptacles down each side of the arch. It is not attached to the plate base.
It was retired from production on Jan 1
st, 1990.

Whitsuntide #163

Whitsuntide #163 

A truly unique Hummel, 6.5” high, showing angels celebrating Whitsuntide (the week beginning with Whitsunday - Pentecost and especially the first three days of this week). 

This piece was first produced in 1946 by master sculptor Arthur Moeller.  It was originally called "Christmas" and some times known as "Happy New Year". It was one of the early releases and removed from production in 1960, then reinstated in 1977 and temporarily withdrawn in 1999. The older pieces are very scarce and highly sought by collectors.

In older versions the angel appears holding a red or yellow candle and is without the candle in newer versions

Forest Shrine

This 7" x 9" wonderful piece was created by Master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1946 and was released in the late 1940s..


It was originally named Doe and Shrine and was produced in rather limited quantities. This adorable porcelain  figurine features two deer in the middle of the woods next to a make shift shrine. One deer on the ground and one deer staring up  at a shrine.

Call To Worship

Musical Clock Tower UNIQUE!! 

This piece was produced in 1988 and is only the 2nd clock ever made from one of Sister Maria’s designs.  It is in MINT condition, no marks, cracks, or blemishes or crazing on bottom.  But wait! Not only is it a clock but it plays two tunes on the hour!  You can set it for “Ave Maria” or “Westminster Chimes”. WOW!!  It comes with a “C” battery also.

This truly unique Hummel stands 13” high, showing angels making the call to services. It is part of the Century Collection created for a one-year limited production. Figures in the collection bear the “XX” Roman numeral on their base.

The detail and workmanship are truly remarkable.  A credit to the master artists at Goebel.

             Ride Into Christmas

Hummel #396 “Ride into Christmas”  

It's a tradition to visit the forest each year and search for a special Christmas tree. This young lad has found the perfect evergreen, with it resting in his basket, he uses his lantern to guide his way back home. Ride Into Christmas was first designed by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1970. It should be noted that Skrobek considered this piece his favorite design of the hundreds he modeled during his many years at Goebel. This popular winter figurine was first launched in the USA in 1972.
